Partner Status Management | Not Active vs. Temporarily Stopped

Updating Account Statuses

Updating the Account Status of a partner can be done in one of two ways. From the manage partner account section, you can update the account status on the right side of the partner information; you can update multiple partners from this page. You can only set Active and Not Active statuses from this page. The second way also includes the Temporarily Stopped status. When editing a partner, head to the Account Information section, from there you can set one of three account statuses: Active, Not Active and Temporarily Stopped. When managing buyer accounts in boberdoo, you have two primary options for controlling lead flow to a partner:

Not Active (Admin Control)

When an admin sets a partner's status to "Not Active" from the manage partner accounts interface, the partner is turned off from receiving anything. Only an admin can reactivate the account when a partner's status is inactive.

This status is particularly valuable when:

  • A buyer has payment issues or outstanding invoices
  • There's a dispute that needs resolution before resuming lead delivery
  • You need to permanently or semi-permanently stop lead flow for compliance reasons
  • A buyer needs to be removed from the rotation until contract terms are renegotiated

Not active is like a one-way street. Once set, the partner cannot override this status on their own.

Temporarily Stopped (Two-Way Control)

The "Temporarily Stopped" status serves a different purpose. This status can be:

  • Set by an admin from the partner information page
  • Set by partners themselves through their portal login
  • Reversed by partners through their portal login

Temporarily stopped is the two-way street. This gives partners autonomy to manage their own lead flow when appropriate, while still providing visibility to system administrators.

Self-Service Lead Buyers

One use case for the "Temporarily Stopped" functionality is enabling lead buyers to manage their capacity. By allowing buyers to log into the partner portal and toggle their status, you create several advantages:
