Key Takeaways From Lead Generation World and Blacks in Performance Marketing Summit 2025

This past week, we attended Lead Generation World and the Blacks in Performance Marketing (BiPM) Summit. Both were excellent events, and we're happy to share our experiences and what we felt were the best takeaways from both conferences.

Blacks in Performance Marketing Summit 2025

boberdoo was a sponsor of the Blacks in Performance Marketing Summit, and we got a lot out of attending, networking, and experiencing the different activities. Sean-Reed McGee and Matt Tillman have done an amazing job growing BiPM in a relatively short amount of time. This is NOT an organization only for one group of people.

During the summit, multiple activities covered how alike and different people are, how we build our world and what it looks like when we take a step back and look at how different experiences shape our story. There was also a trivia section at the end where we scored 5th place, though music was not our strong suit in this one.

We got a lot out of this and were very honored to sponsor such an event. We encourage everyone who comes to Lead Generation World next year to check out the Blacks in Performance Marketing Summit. It was honestly the best networking opportunity of the entire visit and is definitely worth the extra half day next year in San Diego.

For the second year, Lead Generation World took place in Florida at the Hard Rock Hollywood. It is always nice to catch some sun and get away from single-digit temperatures for a few days. It is a great conference to exhibit at, and there was a lot of traffic in the exhibit hall. We like that they have the stages in the same room as the exhibit hall, so people do not need to go anywhere else.

It's always great to see friends and clients at our cocktail hour and other events. I always have fun catching up with the gals at LinkUnite, and am excited to see them at more conferences! The pizza party was fun, and it was great to make connections there. My personal favorite was the alligator I took a picture with during one of the evening events.

The Key Takeaways

Many companies are still looking for one-to-one consent solutions. If we had a quarter for all the times one-to-one was brought up, our trip would have been paid for. It is still a popular topic and why wouldn't it be less than a month from the deadline? We have solutions that can practically fit any use case for one-to-one consent. If you have not already started on one-to-one, you need to drop what you are doing and figure it out.

You need a good TCPA lawyer to review your website and TCPA terms.

We visited the Troutman-Amin Mansion Party and got some good information on forms and landing pages for one-to-one consent. The biggest takeaway from that event is that you must read through your TCPA language from top to bottom. Some examples Eric Troutman gave were clearly situations where people had not even proofread the TCPA terms they had on their website. Sentences that did not agree. Some parts were redone for one-to-one use, but the old conflicting TCPA terms were left in place. Lots of examples of what not to do. We are not lawyers, and we strongly recommend that you speak to an attorney familiar with TCPA about this well before January 27th. Professional TCPA plaintiffs are targeting people with holes in their TCPA terms. You do not want to be a victim of something you could easily prevent. Yes, these lawyers are expensive, but those costs will pale compared to what you will face if you are targeted and your TCPA terms are not where they need to be. Please, please, please do not just copy and paste some terms you found on the internet and think you are good. Every word matters, and the risk is high. These two law firms both regularly attend Lead Generation World and LeadsCon and specialize in TCPA law.

Test everything! AB tests your forms, landing page, and ads. Make sure you're testing one-to-one consent flows, email marketing, opt-out flows, call center communications, chatbot conversations and everything else. Don't just take it to the conversation but also to the endpoint. That is where you can find the actual ground-breaking data and fill in all the gaps you may be missing.

Thank you, Blacks in Performance Marketing and Lead Generation World, for being so welcoming and putting on great events to kick off 2025! For the next conferences on the list, we look forward to seeing some of the same folks and new people at Affiliate Summit and LeadsCon, both in Las Vegas.
